“The Lost Child” by Mulk Raj Anand is a moving story about a young child who visits a village fair with his parents. At first, he is attracted by toys, sweets, flowers, balloons and other colourful objects. However, after losing his parents in the crowded fair, all these attractions become meaningless to him. The story beautifully demonstrates that parental love and emotional security are more precious to a child than material pleasures.
