“Twin Melodies” by Mitra Phukan is a thoughtful three-act play about music, family expectations and the courage to make an individual choice. The story follows Shruti, a talented young violinist trained in Hindustani classical music, who also performs with an Indo-Western fusion group. Her greatest difficulty is not the concert itself. It is telling her strict father, Nabin Sharma, that she wants to explore a musical form he distrusts.
